Yes, I'm back from cruise. This is a great trip and I think it is worth paying. The service is excellent as well as the food and entertainment. Definitely better than Star Cruise. It's best if you have a friend there, no friend is not that fun. Shall try to recall and sum up my days over there.
Day 1: I boarded the cruise together with my sis, aunts, cousin and my grandmother in the afternoon. Checked in the rooms had my lunch at the Windjammer Cafe which is a buffet lunch. Met mum and the rest in the ship afterwards. Saw some Mediacorp artise as well, got one of them smoker... But he is some minor host or actor there. Li Teng appears to be snobbish... Anyways, the room is good, although smaller than hotel rooms (that's of course), but has hotel standard. The beds are as comfortable as hotel ones, not like the double decker ones in Star Cruise, the beds there are not even double decked. My only complaint only has to be that there is no channel that broadcast the Barclays Premier League live matches, only sports channel is ESPN. No big issue though. Our stateroom attendant, who is from China, is super good. He is super friendly and helpful, meticulous in work, definitely provides good service. After lunch, we had a emergency drill, the crew are very serious on it and the lineup is like a army camp. They arrange us orderly and we have to stand there in your 'armour' (the bulky life vest) and wait for instructions before we leave. Then, I told the stateroom attendant that there was no three pin mains supply, therefore he went to help me find one adapter. He got me one but I later realised that it was spoilt, then I asked a woman who was supposed to solve my room's TV remote control problem to help me with the adapter. She said that it is not the problem, she is only under room service, ask me to find the other department. Isn't room service supposed to solve a small issue in a room like this? She is also the worst person of service among the crew I encountered with, totally not friendly and polite in her presentation of herself. The ship sailed off at 4, very soon I lost my handphone's signal. I did not do much exploration yet, most of the time in my room resting, played a little PES. Dinner was at 6 plus, must dress up formally as it was fine dinning. So I dressed up formally and headed to the Romeo and Juliet restaurant. The maximum they could give us was a table of 10, but there were 12 of us. So me and my aunt had to be left out and seat some table in the upper level. And we had to dine with one couple, but it was pretty ok. The food was good of course, better with wine but had to pay for wine, so I left that out. After dinner, we went for some party which the ship's Captain introduces himself and his crew. Had a glass of champagne there, was free. After that, back to room for awhile. Mum called and said some of them went to play Wii, I went about and could not find them, but I explored quite a lot on the cruise already. After that, we went for a show The host Dennis was good, he's funny as well as Fang. The show was some magic show performed by Charles Bach together with his wife, some of his moves did stunned me. After the show, we had supper, was a buffet but small variety. But seriously, I will never go hungry in the cruise. After supper I headed back to the room for the night.
Day 2: Woke up at 10... Went to Windjammer Cafe for breakfast buffet. Awesome breakfast, the orange juice was super fresh and good as well. We then went to Anchors Aweigh and played Bingo. Was quite fun, Fang was a good host, I had some close chances of winning. I then walked around after the game and enjoyed the breeze while waiting for the big magic show at the pool to begin. They had chains and shackles tied to Charles Bach and he freed himself from the pool. He survived in the pool for 2 minutes 44 seconds, it is almost impossible to hold one's breath for that long. Saw Feng Tianwei in the Windjammer Cafe. Appeared to be quite snobbish as well. The cruise arrived at Penang at about 2 plus. The procedures on leaving the ship a little troublesome and long, cause we need to board a small boat and travel to the port as there is no port there to accomodate such a huge cruise. At Penang, we hired a van for 12 of us and we went to some outlet which sells white coffee. Definitely not the best, Old Town should be better. After that, we went to another outlet which sells stuff like Bak Kut Teh (they only sell the herbs for it), Tau Sa Piah and many other stuff. We went to eat 'Char Kuay Teow' after that, quite nice but my mum said definitely not the best in Penang. I had to agree because it was very oily, the Ice Kachang tasted ordinary. We went to a shopping centre after that, I just walked around and did not buy anything, things are not cheap there. After that, we headed back to the cruise, saw Old Town, thought the driver should have brought us there instead. So we took the boat back to the cruise, the boat back to the cruise is air condition, not like the one to Penang. Rested back to our rooms, not long later was dinner. This time, they shifted us to different tables, a table of 10 and a table of 4 side by side. The waiters serving us are of good service and they are very friendly and humorous too. And an enjoying dinner is complete with good food. Dinner was always at the Romeo and Juliet restauant and fine dinning as always. Catched another show, singing and some dancing. I headed back to the room, did not go pool party, suddenly got lazy with no reason. Got bored as I could not watch any live soccer matches... But slept quite late as I listened to music till very late as usual.
Day 3: Woke up slightly past 10. I think I became a darn sleepyhead there, just could not wake up early, did not set alarm maybe. Headed to Windjammer for breakfast as usual. But the food always have changes and is always as good. At that time, the ship had already reached Port Kelang for quite some time. Going in and out of Port Kelang was easier, as there was not a need to take a boat. Did not really eat for lunch, but I got 'Pang Seh' after that. Supposed to meet at 3 to go Port Kelang, but did not see them, so I went around to find my aunt as she said she went to eat, but I saw that Windjammer was closed... So could not find them and had to drop the idea of going Port Kelang and once again could only walked around the cruise and relax on the deckchair while listening to music. Went back and found out my aunt did not go Port Kelang and asked me where I was. Of course I told her I was trying to find the others. Then stayed in the room for awhile. Then met them up and they went for the cruise sales, did not buy anything as well, save money to shop in Singapore, haha. Went for the last show of the cruise, it was some stunt show, very good. Then came in the crew and the host to give us a small farewell show. Then we went for dinner at 8 plus. Feng Tianwei was just nearby our tables and served by the same waiter. We told the waiter that she is our table tennis player and he replied that he already know and he was told by her that she is the champion in Singapore. Act siah... While we about to finish our meal, a music is being played and suddenly the waiters marched out and swung napkins high up and a voice from the bottom level told everyone, 'Napkins up! Don't be shy!'. Haha, funny. Then the waiters and chefs gave us a 'farewell show' down there as well. After dinner, I browsed all the shops there and bought nothing once again. Went back to the room and found out my handphone spoilt. My mood dampened and did not do proper packing and slept away.
Day 4: Woke up at 7 plus and went down to Romeo and Juliet restaurant for my first fine dinning breakfast. My mood was still as dampened with my spoilt handphone turning worse. At least breakfast did brightened up my day, however this is inevitably the worst day in the cruise. Had to do rush packing back in the room and was made guilty as everyone was like waiting for me, but at least I did not take my time to pack... What soured it was that is realised I left my passport in the room when we were at the customs area. I had to rush to the boat, the security say must wait before I could go in because it was very busy. They had to handle thousands of people, so to go back in very troublesome. Then I ran all the way up to the room and the room attendant told me he handled my passport to the counter, so I had to go down to the counter to retrieve it. Then I ran back to the customs, and the person sent me to another side, he said "Singapore passports over that side.". I had a bad feeling about it and I did not see my family over there, too crowded but no choice but to go where I had been sent to. After passing all the customs, I did not see my family members out there and had a worse feeling, that my family was still waiting in there. Took some time to see my aunt out there and she asked me where my mum was. Then I told her that I have no idea and ask her to call my mum or sister. Indeed, they were waiting back in there... Knew I sure will get some scolding and stuff... My day quite ruined. So I slept once I reached home at about 8 plus to 9. Woke up at 2 plus.
At last, I'm finally done. It may not be my exact entire experience but it is to wha I can recall and it is near exact. If I were to post my exact experience, it'll be much longer. I'm done for now, thanks for your kind patience if you have read everything. Pictures will be up soon!

First off, I have to say that I LOVE cruise ships.
I spent over 12 years working on them as a Scuba Instructor,
Shore Excursion Manager and an IT Officer.
For 2 years I also worked shoreside in Miami as a database IT guy.
During my years on ships, I have to stay that many things happened
and that life is definately stranger than fiction on cruise ships.
Many people have asked me to share the stories I have collected over
the years, so I am complying with their request.
My site is: www.cruiseshipstories.com
If you had any stories of your own to add, please
send them to me and I will be happy to add them.
